A story-driven mix of lifestyle and documentary photography that’s authentic and timeless.
what does that mean exactly?
Documentary photography is an honest and accurate representation of what is being photographing - people, events, places, objects, etc.
Lifestyle photography is a style of portraiture with the goal of capturing real life moments in an artistic way.
I combine the two.
Approaching my sessions through the mixture of these two lenses (photography pun fully intended!), allows me to document the connection and interactions of you and your people by getting to know who y’all are, what’s driving a desire for photographs in this season, and to create a session that is specifically tailored to you. The visual story-telling allows me to showcase the love you have for each other in an honest way combined with some artsy and detailed shots. This allows for a fuller story to be able to unfold within the session allowing it to be so much more than simply smiles caught in a moment.
If real, authentic memories matter to you more than all the cheesy poses of yesteryear (anyone else picturing that 80’s light backdrop right now?), we may be a good fit.
Wondering if we’d be friends? Here’s a few things I think we’d agree on.
Curious about if we’ll fit well together with me as your photographer? Here’s what a session with me looks like.
ALL THE “BUTS”
I want to look beautifully flawless BUT it’s a million degrees in Houston, Texas and my mascara is sweating down my face.
I want to look incredible in photographs where I’m not smiling BUT I have a terrible resting face.
I want my curly hair to be gorgeous BUT does it look crazy? Are there hairs out of place?
Can you relate? The good news is that I completely believe that photography is for every single human. These questions (and many others) hit all of us at different times and are completely normal, especially when doing a photography session. Photography sessions can feel intimidating, but it’s my job to make you feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. I promise that I’ll make sure your stray hairs are put in place, that your makeup isn’t running, and that your face is expressive in those serious ‘resting’ moments. Once we start, it’s all about focusing on enjoying the time spent and letting me take care of your worries.
